Every year, the Art History Department at Cal Poly Pomona produces a newsletter as a public relations and recruitment tool to share the department’s student and alumni news, program details, career paths and other content from the academic year. The project, treated like a semester-long internship, is supervised by Art History faculty member Dr. Karlyn Griffith, who chooses the group of students to create the publication. This project is currently ongoing.

In our concept, we wanted to highlight the integral factors of the Art History Department, which was focusing on the global aspect of the program and its classes. Using some of our own images from various historical sights or famous artworks, we wanted to capture the essence of the program while being visually appealing and easy to navigate.
After our concept approval, my role was to be the sole communicator with our client to plan meetings and stay on track, as well as gather images and lay out correct typography. As this is an ongoing project, my current contributions have been color scheme, image selection, table of contents page, and body copy layout edits throughout the newsletter.
